Planting Your Seeds

Planting the First seeds of the Season

In this video, I am showing you how I plant seeds. I like to use small soil blocks to start my seedlings, but you can use any container you prefer.

I thought people might want to see all the details so this video is a bit longer than most lessons.

The seeds I am planting in this video prefer warm soil temperatures so I will cover the containers with a humidity dome and place them on a germination mat. Once the seeds start to germinate, I will remove the dome and move the seedlings off the germination mat.

In today’s video, I am planting:

  • Coleus Fairway Yellow – Solenostemon scutellariodes
  • Eucalyptus Baby Blue Bouquet – Eucalyptus pulverulenta
  • Verbena bonariensis – requires at least 3 weeks of cold stratification
  • Sun Dancer white begonia – Begonia tuberhybrida
